ATMOsphere America 2017 – The use of R290 combined to Variable Speed technology as an excellent option to reduce energy consumption

Once more, Huayi Compressor Barcelona will participate in the ATMOsphere events organized by Shecco. In this opportunity, ATMOsphere America 2017 will be held in San Diego during 5th, 6th and 7th of June. This event represents an excellent meeting point for decision makers of United States refrigeration market leaders.

During these conference days, we have the pleasure to present the speech of our R&D Director – Mr. Vicente Guilabert – about the optimum low consumption results from the case study “The lowest energy consumption when using the top efficient R290 LBP compressor range combined with variable speed technology in a plug-in ice cream conservator”.

In particular, this test shows how to reach 30% energy savings for the complete refrigeration system by replacing the compressor with our U Range HVD70NT combined with Variable Speed technology, more efficient in propane. This comparison is done by substituting U Range models NUT60LRa and NUT60LRb, both also high efficiency ones.

Energy savings obtained from the COP compressor improvement is automatically transferred to a global environment benefit due to the considerable reduction of CO2 emissions directly connected to lower energy requirements. At the end, this is translated into a reduction of CO2 emissions into the environment, at the same time that we observe energy cost savings, both direct benefits that end users enjoy.

These results demonstrate that R290 is one of the best Natural Refrigerant alternatives for light commercial refrigeration applications, with an excellent GWP, where systems don’t require significant changes with respect to current HFC’s or other ecological alternatives as in the case of CO2. R290 has been applied in the most efficient appliances produced in Europe from last years with very positive results and is starting to be used in North America as a feasible option.
