Participation in Chillventa 2018

Chillventa 2018 is the 10^th edition of the fair since its launch, and it has become the largest international event for the refrigeration sector. This year it had a participation of more than 1.000 exhibitors and 34.000 visitors.

Our sales team attended to all interested people - our current and potential customers - who were looking for new developments of compressors for R290, as well as condensing units.

Huayi at ATMO America 2018

Vicente Guilabert, R&D Director of Huayi Compressor Barcelona, presented at ATMOsphere America 2018 the case study about the replacement of R134a compressor in a small deep freezer with LMBP R290 alternative, obtaining 30% energy savings while reducing the refrigerant charge. Huayi ratifies R290 as the best environment friendly alternative due to the excellent GWP.

Huayi at ATMO China 2018

ATMOsphere China 2018 has successfully ended with more than 223 attendees. All messages are focused on showing huge opportunities for the development of technologies based on Natural Refrigerants.

According to Alvaro de Oña from Shecco, hydrocarbons are growing for plug-in units, nowadays there are around 2 million units of HC plug-in systems in the world with approximate 4.000 units in Chinese supermarkets.

Pedro Olalla, our Sales Director, ratified that today 90% of our new developments are based on HC during Round Table session. Furthermore, during case studies sessions, Vicente Guilabert, our R&D Director, highlighted the benefits of new NUS range of propane compressors demonstrating faster pull-down times and efficiency improvements over previous models.

Huayi Compressor Barcelona at MCE 2018

Huayi Compressor Barcelona has participated for the first time in Mostra Convegno Expoconfort 2018. During the event that was carried out successfully, Huayi presented its range of compressors in propane, more efficient and ecological, together with the new range of tropicalized condensing units under the new Ecodesign regulations. Likewise, a complete refrigeration system was also presented, in addition to the Cubigel Compressors® product offering.

The trend towards the use of natural refrigerants as the main alternative to HFCs is clear in the light commercial market. The use of Isobutene in household refrigerators is already standard in most countries due to its low GWP and better efficiency. Following this trend, Propane is becoming the most widely used and best alternative for light commercial applications. It allows F-Gas regulation deadlines to be met and together with R600a provides a definitive solution.

The only drawback is the refrigerant charge limit that is currently restricting its use in some applications. In this respect, there is a new regulation under discussion that could solve this weakness of Hydrocarbons. In the meantime, a lot of new blends are arriving on the market offering temporary solutions and creating confusion. Most of these new refrigerants are not direct replacements for current refrigerants and not as efficient as Hydrocarbons.

We saw in the last ATMOsphere conferences, at Berlin and Madrid, that the market is more and more convinced of the use of natural refrigerants as the best solution. For example, at Huayi Group we have a complete range of compressors working with R600a and R290 covering different applications and a wide range of cooling capacities and voltages. Most of our new developments go in this direction, combining natural refrigerants with more efficient solutions, such as variable speed compressors.
Next year, we will be launching a new product following these two main aspects to meet market requirements.

Huayi Compressor Barcelona at ATMOsphere Events Europe and Ibérica

Huayi Compressor Barcelona participated in the ATMOsphere events organised by Shecco. These conferences are among the most comprehensive events for natural refrigerants.
This time round, the ATMOsphere events for Europe and Ibérica areas were held in Berlin and Madrid, respectively.

These events are an excellent meeting point for decision makers in refrigeration markets, such as Europe and Ibérica, focusing on each other’s specific needs and behaviour.

The conference programmes include presentations from leading experts across the HVAC&R industry.
At ATMOsphere Europe, held in Berlin last September, Vicente Guilabert, R&D Director at Huayi Compressor Barcelona, SL shared the case study “R290 compressor range for small light commercial applications”. The case study demonstrated the benefits of using the smallest R290 compressor in a very small can cooler as a replacement for the previous R134a system.
In Madrid, Pedro Olalla participated in the discussion panel “Market trends of natural refrigerants”, sharing Huayi Compressor Barcelona’s experience and vision of the local market.

Cubigel Condensing Units: Eco-design compliance

Huayi Compressor Barcelona is pleased to announce that its existing condensing unit product range is already in compliance with the coming 2018 Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/CE review, with more demanding requirements in terms of energy efficiency. The tests have been performed according to the EN 13215 standard.
This is the result of Huayi’s long experience in designing compressors, and consequently condensing units; focusing on offering maximum energy efficiency while, at the same time, being more environmentally friendly through using a large catalogue of solutions with natural refrigerants.

The use of natural refrigerants is growing in the market following or forced by new European and American regulations and also because all main end users, beverage and ice cream producers, have selected hydrocarbons as the primary option to offer to the market more environmental friendly and sustainable products.

We at Huayi Compressor Barcelona are prepared for this challenge, we have a complete range of compressors working with R600a and R290, covering a wide range of cooling capacities and applications. Actually, we have the most complete R290 product range in the market covering from 86 to 1164 kcal/h for LBP applications and 230 to 2334 kcal/h for HMBP applications. In fact, this is not enough for us; in 2017 we are going to launch new products with higher efficiency levels to meet market demands.

As mentioned before, one of the drivers of Light Commercial Refrigeration is the use of natural refrigerants and the second is the reduction of energy consumption of the appliances. The best solution to meet both requirements is the Variable Speed Compressor.

At Huayi Group, we have a lot of experience in the Household Refrigeration market that we are going to transfer to the Light Commercial one, offering very efficient solutions at a competitive price. ATMOsphere America 2017 – The use of R290 combined to Variable Speed technology as an excellent option to reduce energy consumption

Once more, Huayi Compressor Barcelona will participate in the ATMOsphere events organized by Shecco. In this opportunity, ATMOsphere America 2017 will be held in San Diego during 5th, 6th and 7th of June. This event represents an excellent meeting point for decision makers of United States refrigeration market leaders.

During these conference days, we have the pleasure to present the speech of our R&D Director – Mr. Vicente Guilabert – about the optimum low consumption results from the case study “The lowest energy consumption when using the top efficient R290 LBP compressor range combined with variable speed technology in a plug-in ice cream conservator”.

In particular, this test shows how to reach 30% energy savings for the complete refrigeration system by replacing the compressor with our U Range HVD70NT combined with Variable Speed technology, more efficient in propane. This comparison is done by substituting U Range models NUT60LRa and NUT60LRb, both also high efficiency ones.

Energy savings obtained from the COP compressor improvement is automatically transferred to a global environment benefit due to the considerable reduction of CO2 emissions directly connected to lower energy requirements. At the end, this is translated into a reduction of CO2 emissions into the environment, at the same time that we observe energy cost savings, both direct benefits that end users enjoy.

These results demonstrate that R290 is one of the best Natural Refrigerant alternatives for light commercial refrigeration applications, with an excellent GWP, where systems don’t require significant changes with respect to current HFC’s or other ecological alternatives as in the case of CO2. R290 has been applied in the most efficient appliances produced in Europe from last years with very positive results and is starting to be used in North America as a feasible option.
